The West Pasco Quilters' Guild 2020 Opportunity Quilt

"Longitude 82 W"

Each year, the members of the WPQG produce a bed sized quilt and sell opportunity tickets to the public to raise money for a local charity.  There are many opportunities to view the quilt and purchase tickets, when the quilt is displayed around the community at different events. One or two members are chosen yearly to coordinate this project and they enlist the help of  many of our Guild members.  This is a two-year commitment as it takes one year to complete the quilt and another year to sell the 5,000 (plus) chances.
This beautiful quilt, Longitude 82 W, was created using the design by Becky Cogan and featured in American Patchwork and Quilting April 2013 Issue 121.  Longitude 82 W was coordinated by Kathy Sonosky and created by many hands of the WPQG membership.  Machine quilted by Peggy Wrinkles.
Honor Flight of West Central Florida is the charity that will benefit from 100% of the donations made on this quilt.  Veterans in Pasco County will benefit from the funds raised.
For more information on purchasing chances on this quilt, please contact us at postmaster@westpascoquilters.org.  Thank you.

Honor Flight's mission is to recognize American Veterans for their sacrifice and service by flying them FREE OF CHARGE to Washington, D.C., to visit and reflect at the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.  Honor Flight is committed to fly Veterans from the Korean, Vietnam, Gulf wars and other conflicts.  Top priority is given to WWII Veterans, along with those Veterans who may be terminally ill or unable to fly.  Many Veterans are 90+ years at the time of their Honor Flight.  After each Honor Flight, the Veterans almost always express that their day with Honor Flight of West Central Florida was by far one of the best days of their lives.
